It doesn't see common-law use. A business can have trademark rights without ever filing with the USPTO, just by using a name in commerce. Those rights are real and enforceable, and they leave no record we check.
Covers US federal trademarks. Not state trademark registries, and not international.
Checks business entity registrations in 50 states. A company registered elsewhere won't.
Checks five TLDs — .com, .ai, .io, .co and .net. A registration on another extension is not included.
Can't always distinguish dormant from available. On some platforms, a handle with no active profile might be free or might be an inactive account. Where we can't tell, we say so rather than guessing.
It's not legal advice. Brand Protect tells you what changed. Whether a change is a legal problem, and what to do about it, is a question for a trademark attorney.
It's weekly, not real-time. A change can be up to seven days old when you hear about it. For the deadline that matters most — a trademark opposition window — seven days out of thirty still leaves time to act, which is why the cadence is what it is.
