What we screen, and which regions we cover

A BrandScreen report covers five checks. Here's the scope of each — including where coverage is U.S.-focused and where it's broader:
The key takeaway: BrandScreen's trademark and business-entity screening is U.S.-focused. That's the right scope for most U.S. founders and businesses. But if you're planning to launch or register a brand internationally, you'll need additional trademark clearance in those countries — a BrandScreen report doesn't cover foreign trademark systems.
- Trademarks — United States. We screen the USPTO, the U.S. federal trademark register. We do not currently search other countries' trademark offices.
- Business entities — United States. We search U.S. state business registries for conflicting registered companies.
- Domains — global. Domain extensions are worldwide, so this check isn't tied to any one country.
- Social handles — global. Handle availability is checked on the major platforms, which are global.
- Search competition — general. This reflects the broader search landscape.
