"Card declined" or failed payment — what to do

If a payment doesn't go through, don't worry: no credits are added and you aren't charged. You can simply try again.

Payments are most often declined for one of these reasons:

  • Incorrect card details — double-check the number, expiry date, and security code.

  • Expired or outdated card — if you're using a saved card, it may need updating (see Managing your payment method).

  • Insufficient funds or a bank hold — your bank may be blocking the charge.

  • International or restricted cards — some cards have limits on online or cross-border payments.

What to do:

  1. Re-enter your card details carefully and try again.

  2. If it still fails, try a different card.

  3. If you believe the card is fine, contact your bank — they can often see why a charge was blocked and approve it.

If you've tried these and still can't complete a purchase, reach out to support and we'll help you get it sorted.
