Reading the Search Competition check

The search competition check looks at how crowded your name already is online — essentially, how hard it'll be to get found in search once you launch.

It considers things like how difficult the search results are to rank against, how much is already published around the name, and how much real search demand exists. The report sums this up as a difficulty read (for example, "Low difficulty").

What the result tells you:

  • Low competition means the name is relatively open in search — it'll be easier to rank for and to "own" as people start looking you up.

  • High competition means you'd be entering a crowded field, where an established player or a common word makes it harder to stand out and be found.

This check won't make or break a name on its own, but it's a useful tiebreaker: between two otherwise-similar names, the one with less search competition will be easier to build visibility around.
